Catch the Sniffles - Sniffle Buddies

"We’ve all been there – your nose starts to drip and you’re caught without a tissue. So what do you do? I know I’ve had to casually (and quickly) wipe the offending drip on my…okay sleeve, but what else could I do.

Kids are the same, except with their busy hands and busy minds they automatically sniffle on their sleeve. So it’s no wonder there’s a high rate of colds and flu’s that travel throughout the classroom and schools.

Well no more thanks to Sniffle Buddies. These soft, organic, hypo-allergenic wrist bands are perfect for you or your little one. Here’s what Sniffle Buddies has to offer..." read more

Everybody has those “things” that gross you out.  I have several (and I won’t confess them all), but one that’s up there on my list is kids wiping their nose with their hands, wrists, sleeve, etc.  You get the picture.  I just think of all those germs.  Aaaaaah!  I have a two-year old and I am trying to teach her to blow her nose with a tissue.  Even the concept of blowing is hard.  We’ve got a ways to go……and that’s why I couldn’t wait for Sniffle Buddies to arrive in the mail... read more

How to Dispose of Your Sniffles

"...One option is to carry a wad of tissues everywhere you go.  That's ok, but then what do you do with the disgusting tissues after you've blown?  Shove them into your pocket and germify your coat?

Thumbnail image for snifflebuddies.jpgThat's usually exactly what I do, but through the wonders of being a media professional, I recently got a free sample of Sniffle Buddies, an absorbent wristband that's made from organic cotton and bamboo and is machine washable.  The idea is that if you wipe your nose and catch the drips on the band, you can contain germs, eliminate the tissue-wad, and re-use the material instead of running through boxes and boxes of Kleenex..."  read more

Sniffle Buddies

With the cold and flu season upon us we moms know that means runny noses. When it comes to kids and runny noses they grab anything to wipe their noses and usually it's the sleeve of their shirt. I know it' gross that they do that, but it's what kids do. Sure we encourage them to use a tissue, but a lot of the time a tissue is not on hand or they are too busy playing to get up and get one. What to do about this, well the people at Sniffle Buddies have come up with an ingenious idea to stop those sniffles from being on the sleeve of their shirts and help the environment at the same time.  read more

These are all products designed to help prevent the spread of germs this cold and flu season."  watch video

We're excited to be making the news and would like to reinforce our stance that if your child will use a tissue or hanky efficiently and effectively, then we're in no way suggesting you replace that habit with Sniffle Buddies.  But...if your children are like many toddlers & preschoolers and are still wiping too often on their sleeves while trying to master the skill, we recommend at least giving them a easily accessible, anitbacterial surface to utilize...Sniffle Buddies.

"Kids get the sniffles all the time, and they almost never have a tissue handy. So what do they use? Their sleeves. And it’s gross... They’re soft, washable hankies that your kid can wear on his wrist and use to wipe his nose on the go (for proper nose-blowing, he’ll still need a tissue). "  read more

Review/Giveaway-Sniffle Buddies

Tue, Sep 22nd, 2009

"Sniffle Buddies was sent to us for review. My kids suffer from bad allergies and with my youngest being three yrs old she has a habit of using her arm to wipe her nose. After we received the Sniffle Buddies she wanted to wear them all the time. She did get in the habit of wiping her nose on them instead of her arm.  Sniffle Buddies was a life saver in my home."  read more

PRESS RELEASE - July 29, 2009

MOM'S FIGHT BACK ON THE WAR AGAINST GERMS!
A Handful of 'Mompreneurs' are Paving the Way for Products Designed for Germ-Spread Prevention.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA - (July 29, 2009) - Once again, the country finds itself heading into one of the most dreaded times of the year: the back-to-school and flu season. With fears swelling of the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Virus gaining momentum again as the weather turns cool, parents are beginning to wonder how to protect their children, the elderly, and themselves.

Introducing three separate 'mompreneurial' companies that have paved the way in the fight against germs.

Germy Wormy®'s Margaret Back, the Sniffle Buddies®' team of Sharon Pevsner & J. Kelly Mayes, and Sniffle Sleeve™'s  Wendy Piret, all had the same idea (but with decidedly different executions) last year when they realized that parents and children need to educate and protect themselves against the unwanted spread of illness.

Germy Wormy®

Germy Wormy  has been praised by healthcare professionals, teachers and parents alike as the only educational tool- for children as young as two-years-old to understand and reduce the spread of germs. The Germy Wormy Germ Smart for Kids DVD features a fun and loveable character ("Germy Wormy") who entertains while educating children on WHY it is important to cough and sneeze into their elbow when sick and Germ Stoppers 5 - the Top 5 Things kids can do to protect themselves from getting germs. The revolutionary disposable sleeve fits comfortably over a child's elbow area to catch sneezes, coughs & runny noses, and even complies with the CDC guidelines for protecting illness in preschool-aged kids. The Germy Wormy disposable sleeves 20 Pack retails for $9.99; the Germy Wormy Germ Smart for Kids DVD retails for $24.99. All are available at www.GermyWormy.com.

Sniffle Buddies

The eco-friendly band fits comfortably around the wrist and teaches kids the importance of wiping runny noses on something other than their hand, something which greatly contributes to the spread of illness. The adult sized band is perfect for active moms who suffer from allergies (especially when exercising) while on the yoga mat or out for a hike. Child bands retail for $9.99, the adult size, for wrists larger than 5.5 inches, retails for $10.99. Both are available at www.SniffleBuddies.com.

Sniffle Sleeve™

This collection of washable cotton sleeves come in an array of playful colors and patterns, and incorporates a canvas patch where the user can add antibacterial and/or antiviral essential oils recommended on the product packaging. The company blends a line of exclusively organic and wildcrafted therapeutic grade essential oils made specifically for kids, Kanigo EO™ essential oils. There are six different blends of oils crafted tosupport the immune system and ward off the further spread of germs, including Cough, Cough!, Flu and Sinusitis.  All blends are from Valerie Ann Worwood's book, "Aromatherapy for the Healthy Child." The sleeves retail two for $18.99; immune support blends vary in price. These products and more are available at www.SniffleSleeve.com.
