Fri, Jan 11th, 2013 The journey of invention and marketing of a single product created to tend my own son's needs, Sniffle Buddies, has now bloomed into a company focused on meeting the individual needs of others. The new, downsized business structure is a platform for a wider range of niche products created to meet individual customer's needs, as best a possible. The products are not high-tech. They're not mass produced, the target market is not big-box stores, it's the person who needs something that I can produce for them. Although, "going big" was a potential goal for the initial business venture, I have come to accept the fact that my joy in this venture is creating, not marketing. It's important in life to do what you love...and what I love is knowing that the resources I have in my world can somehow make a positive change for another. The website and catalog are a "works in progress" as I wear all the hats :), but the ability to create per special request is available via telephone or email. If you have a need that could be met by a variation of one of the simple products offered here, please let me know and we'll start creating! We have been hit hard by the allergy season and I was at my wits end. The worst part of all the runny noses is that my lovely little toddler does not always reach for a tissue...sometimes its a shirt, the blanket on the couch, my clothes....needless to say I am not overly excited about all the things that become impromptu tissues. So in my frustration I began googling and searching for something that would just keep me a tiny bit sane and I found the Sniffle Buddies...I love the fact that we can wash our little buddy and use over and over without having the pile up of tissues. With the cold and flu season upon us we moms know that means runny noses. When it comes to kids and runny noses they grab anything to wipe their noses and usually it's the sleeve of their shirt. I know it' gross that they do that, but it's what kids do. Sure we encourage them to use a tissue, but a lot of the time a tissue is not on hand or they are too busy playing to get up and get one. This free family festival features live music, professional dance performances, arts & crafts for kids, a bicycle tour of Pasadena’s tree canopy, over 60 booths on green products, energy and water efficiency, conservation, recycling and more! This years festival is partnering with the “Lifestraw Challenge” – bring your recyclable beverage containers (CRV-California Redemption Value plastic/glass/aluminum bottles & cans) to raise funds for drinking water for the Lugufu Refugee Camp in Tanzania, Africa. For every 100 CRV recyclables collected a Lifestraw Water Filter will be donated to the refugee camp. One Lifestraw can provide a child with drinking water for up to a year.
